Valentines Day 2013 - Another Valentine's Day...

Well here we are on the verge of another Valentine's Day. For the uniformed among us I copied the history of this interesting 'holiday" from "Wikipedia" please see below. Valentine's Day can be a fun day and if you are lucky enough to be in love it can be a great excuse to do some random acts of romance (not that you should really need an excuse!). However, it you are single or in a relationship that is in trouble it can be a very trying day.

When we are children it is a fun day and everyone brings everyone little Valentines and candy, not much pressure. As we get older it becomes much more selective and some of us are left out and it can be very hurtful. As adults it serves as a reminder that we have still not met that one special person. Intellectually, we know it is a very important process, one that takes time, effort, perseverance, and luck, but with all the hype of Valentine's Day it can be a depressing day, even making some feel like failures.

I strongly believe that there is always someone out there for everyone, that your match is out there and you certainly are not a failure if you simply haven't found her yet. As a matter of fact, the opposite could be said. With the US domestic divorcee rate at over 50 percent (international couples do seem to fare better in that category) it seems that many rush into marriage just for the sake of being married, in other words, they settle. There are some things you can settle for, like when buying a car, or a house, but you should never settle for something as important as finding the person with whom you wish to spend the rest of your life. So you really should not feel down on Valentine's Day if you have not yet found your soul mate, it will happen, just be glad that you are not one of those that did settle and now have to face Valentines in a relationship that is unfortunately far from where they would like it to be.

So guys, if you find yourself single on this Valentine's Day look at it as a great opportunity. Thank your lucky stars that you are not trapped in a dead-end, complicated, bad relationship - you just haven't found her yet, there is so much ahead of you yet to come.

You do have to take some responsibility to make it happen. You just can't go to work every day and come home, watch TV and go to sleep. You need to put yourself out there and take advantage of all the dating options that you are comfortable with, both domestic and international. Obviously, I think the international options are fantastic, worked for me and thousands of others, but that is not the only option. I think you have to keep a very open mind and really make yourself available to all the possible options. If you do decide to go the international route do not just write letters or do chat, that really won't move you ahead much, you have to get yourself over there and in front of real live women to make something happen.

In the meantime, there are perks of being single on Valentine's Day, for instance, you are not obligated to purchase roses or jewelry, or go to a fancy French restaurant, which are all insanely inflated for this very special day!
